Honma TR21 X

The TR21 X heralds a new generation of iron and goes in the same direction as Mizuno with its HMB. The concept is simple but difficult to implement. An iron that looks like a blade at first glance, but is reminiscent of a "Game Improvement" iron in terms of technology and playability. When you see the TR21 X for the first time, you will probably mistake it for the matching blade, the TR20 B. Only when you take a closer look you notice some important differences: The clubface is significantly larger, the topline and sole are wider and it has more offset. All this makes it as easy as possible for the player. The result is an iron that forgives a lot of mistakes, simplifies launch and ensures high ball speeds. This is made possible by a lot of technology that is hidden in the club head.

The TR21 X is a so called "Hollow Iron" which, simply put, is hollow inside and only filled during the production process. For example, there is a tungsten insert in the sole area which shifts the centre of gravity as far down as possible. This favours the launch and also ensures high ball speeds even with "thinly" hit balls. And Honma places more tungsten in the TR21 X than almost any other manufacturer, namely between 42g and 73g - this is a significant proportion of the total weight. The only technology you can still see is the small screw in the toe which helps to shift the weight even more towards the toe.

Compared to the TR20 P the TR21 X is much bigger: 1.4mm in length and 4.5mm in height. Honma offers the TR21 X again in the typical high quality Vizard shafts, especially the TR20-65 and Vizard IB-WF 85. We have sold this shaft very often in the TW747 P and TR20 P and our customers are enthusiastic about it without exception. However, the TR21 X is also ideal with a light steel stock like the Nippon 950 Neo or Zelos 7 or 8.
